FREE VIDEO WORKFLOW TOOLS

Subtitle time shifter

Move every cue earlier or later by an exact offset. Preview before downloading.

Free · no sign-up · runs in your browser. Your input is not uploaded or stored by this tool. Up to 1 MiB UTF-8 text / 5,000 plain-text cues.

Plain text only. Markup, cue positioning, non-numeric VTT IDs, NOTE/STYLE/REGION blocks and header metadata are rejected explicitly; they are never silently removed.

Positive delays captions; negative moves them earlier. Example: -1.250 = 1.25 seconds earlier. Existing overlaps, negative results and times after 24 hours stop the export; cues are never clipped or dropped.

How to use it

  1. Open plain SRT or VTT and identify a known line against your video.
  2. Enter an offset in seconds: positive for later, negative for earlier.
  3. Preview every changed timestamp and download the new file. Check another line near the end.

What to check

One offset repairs a constant delay, not drift that grows over time. Existing overlaps or out-of-order starts require review first. If any cue would become negative or exceed 24 hours, the whole export stops; no cues disappear.
