Shift subtitles and convert SRT to VTT
Use a two-cue file to verify a 1.250-second shift and a plain WebVTT conversion.

1. Prepare the example
Enter offset 1.250 seconds. After downloading, open SRT ↔ VTT converter and choose VTT for a separate conversion.
1 00:00:01,000 --> 00:00:03,000 Hello world. 2 00:00:04,000 --> 00:00:06,000 A second line.Download example input (.txt)
2. Follow the steps
Open subtitle time shifter- Open the subtitle time shifter and paste the two-cue SRT example. Use positive 1.250 to move every caption later.
- Run and inspect both cues: the first becomes 00:00:02,250 → 00:00:04,250; the second 00:00:05,250 → 00:00:07,250. Download a new SRT.
- Open the SRT ↔ VTT converter, paste that shifted file and select VTT. Expect a WEBVTT header and decimal points in timestamps. Keep the original SRT.
- Preview the exported file with your real video at the beginning and end. A uniform offset cannot repair growing drift or different video edits.
3. Compare your result
WEBVTT 1 00:00:02.250 --> 00:00:04.250 Hello world. 2 00:00:05.250 --> 00:00:07.250 A second line.
The plain-text converter rejects styling and unsupported format features. It does not align captions to audio. Do not convert a production styled file without reviewing the original.
