Frame rate describes how many frames are presented per second, either as a fixed rate or a time-varying sequence.

Updated 2026-10-29 · Topicut editorial

Meaning

Frame rate describes how many frames are presented per second, either as a fixed rate or a time-varying sequence.

A practical example

A ten-second sequence at a constant 25 frames per second contains 250 frame positions.

What to check

A displayed rate does not prove the source has constant frame timing. Preserve timing information when diagnosing drift or converting between versions.
